When
You Wish Upon A Star
Writer:
Leigh Harline; Lyrics: Ned Washington
When
you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are
Anything
your heart desires will come to you.
If
your heart is in your dreams, no request is too extreme
When
you wish upon a star as dreamers do.
Fate
is kind, she brings to those who love
The
sweet fulfillment of their secret longing.
Like
a bolt out of the blue, fate steps in and sees you thru
When
you wish upon a star, your dreams come true.
There's
Always Tomorrow
by
Johnny Marks
There's
always tomorrow for dreams to come true,
Believe
in your dreams come what may.
There's
always tomorrow, there's so much to do,
And
so little time in a day.
We
all pretend the rainbow has an end,
And
you'll be there my friend, someday.
There's
always tomorrow for dreams to come true,
Tomorrow
is not far away.
"
We are such stuff that dreams are made of."
paraphrased
from William Shakespeare from The Tempest

The
Horsewoman's Prayer
author
unknown
Dearest God in Heaven,
Give me the strength to guide my horse, make my hands
soft and my head clear.
Let my horse understand me and I him.
My heart you have blessed with a special love of these
animals- let me never lose sight of it.
My soul you have gifted with a deep need for them, let
that need never lessen.
Always let my breath catch as the sun gleams on an
elegant head.
Always may my throat tighten at the sound of a gentle nicker.
Let the scent of fresh hay and a new bag of grain
always be sweet to me.
Let the warm touch of a soft nose on my hand always
bring a smile.
I adore the joy of a warm day on the farm.
The grace and splendor of a running horse, the thunder
of it's hooves,
makes my eyes burn and my heart soar, let it always be so.
Dearest God,
Grant me patience, for horses are harnessed wind and
wind can be flighty.
Let me not frighten or harm then, instead show me ways
to understand them.
When I pass from this world, send my soul to no Heaven
without them,
for this love you have given me graces my existence
and I shall cherish it, and praise You for it, for all time.
Amen
Somewhere in time's own space
there must be some sweet pastured place
where creeks sing on and tall trees grow,
some paradise where horses go.
For by the love that guides my pen,
I know great horses live again.

Horse's Prayer
Feed me, water and care for me, and when the day's
Talk to me, your voice often means as much to me

Don't
Cry for the Horses |
|
Don't cry for the horses
Don't cry for the horses
They were ours as a gift |
Their spirits unbound
Look up into heaven |
Manes and tails flowing
Don't cry for the horses
Do you hear that soft nicker |
Ain't
you never heard what Peter done?
Run
the quarter mile in :21
And
he run it backwards in :20 flat;
Why,
stranger, where have you been at?
What else could he do, this Peter McCue?
He
could gallop the range with tireless legs,
He
could build a fire and scramble the eggs;
Though
he never learned to subtract or divide,
He
was mighty good when he multiplied!

the Pretty Horses
Traditional,
circa 1860s and sung to me by my mother in the 1960s
Hush-a-bye
don't you cry,
Go
to sleep-y, little baby.
When
you wake you shall have
All
the pretty little horses.
Blacks
and bays, dapple grays,
Coach
and six white horses.
Hush-a-bye
don't you cry,
Go
to sleep-y, little baby.

Prayer
for the Animals
Albert
Schweitzer
Hear our humble prayer, O God,
for our friends the animals,
especially for animals
who are suffering; for any that
are hunted
or lost or deserted or frightened
or hungry;
for all that will be put to death.
We entreat for them all Thy mercy
and pity,
and for those who deal with them
we ask
a heart of compassion and gentle hands
and kindly words.
Make us, ourselves, to be true
friends to animals and
so to share the blessings of the merciful.
Amen

Prayer
for the Animals |
|
God Our Heavenly Father, You created the world to serve humanity's needs and to lead them to You. By our own fault we have lost the beautiful relationship which we once had with all your creation. Help us to see that by restoring our relationship with You we will also restore it with all Your creation. Give us the grace to see all animals as gifts from You and to treat them with respect for they are Your creation. We pray for all animals who are suffering as a result of our neglect. May the order You originally established be once again restored to the whole world through the intercession of the Glorious Virgin Mary, the prayers of St. Francis and the merits of Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ Who lives and reigns with You now and forever. Amen. |

He is your friend, your defender,
your dog.
You are his life, his love.
He will be yours, faithful and true,
to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of
such devotion.
Lessons
our dogs can teach us
Unknown
Run, romp, and play daily!
When loved ones come home, always
run to great them.
Take naps, stretch before rising.
Delight in the simple joy of a
long walk.
When you're happy, wag your entire body.
Be loyal. Never pretend to be
something you're not.
Whenever scolded, run back and
make friends.
Accept people, love without judging.
If you want what lies buried, dig
until you find it!

Missing - Eowyn's Song
from
TLOTR: The Two Towers
music
by Howard Shore, lyrics by Philippa Boyens & David Salo
She
never watched the morning rising,
Too busy with the days first chores
But oft she would watch the
sun's fading
As the cold of night crept
across the moors
And in that moment she felt the loss
Of everything that had been missed
So used to feeling the spirit sink
She had not felt her own heart's wish
